I'm heading off to the SASS Convention in Las Vegas tomorrow morning and will return on Monday next.

I'm especially looking forward to the GAF Color Guard at the Ball on Saturday night.  Besides myself, we will have Mustang Gregg, Sweetwater Jack, Dusty Tagalon, and one of our newest members Mud Marine.  I'm hoping that we may pick up one or two others at the Convention but we'll have to wait and see about that.  This still gives us enough to carry in not only the National Colors, but also the GAF and SASS flags.  Nothing against our young men and women currently serving - I work with many of them every day and you couldn't ask for finer troops - but it'll be good to see a color guard in period uniforms at the Convention this year instead of the National Guard and Reserves we've had in past years.

This will be my fourth SASS Convention.  I missed the second because I was in Iraq, and third because of work, but have managed to make the rest.  The main thing I like about the SASS Conventions are the number of vendors who turn out - we often get to see some new products either shortly after they've been announced, or are about to be announced.  There are enough vendors that one could probably completely outfit himself for just about any persona.  That said, I think I have more friends to meet and greet at the NCOWS Conventions.

I don't expect there to be any crisis while I'm gone, but if there is, I'm designating Pitspitr as Acting Commander in my absence.

Have an enjoyable time out there General but keep yer poke in yer pocket. I hear that they got machines out there that will reach right out and try to take it away from Ya. What ever Ya do, keep enough cash to feed the steed on the way home.

Pitspitr

I will strive to uphold the honour of the Grand Army of the Frontier.
I doubt, however, that my services will be need, as the General has his men well trained.
