Looking to thin out the herd abit and sell my pair of Remington 58's...

The package will include:

- The Pistols with C&B cylinders (.44) and 5 1/2 barrels and short loading levers (work great)
- 2 Taylor conversion cyliders (45 LC)
- The original 7 1/2 barrels with long loading levers
- Curly maple grips on one and smooth moose antler grips on the other

I will probably be listing them on CASCity first but don't know what the shipping laws are for something like this...Should I ship the pistols and conversion cylinders seperate?  Do I need to involve and FFL holder?

Haven't priced them out yet either...I am thinking $1000 or so (plus shipping) but that is just the cost of all the a parts minus 15% for the 300 shots that have been through them...does that sound reasonable/too high/etc?

This my first sale since getting into the sport and I have no idea how to price for resale.

Thanks!

The ball & cap guns are not considered firearms by the BATF and neither are the conversion cylinders by themselfs but together they are, so if you sell them and want to save the hassel of shipping through an FFL dealer, ship them seperatly. WARNING! the information written here was what I read off another forum and don't know if its for a fact. You may want to double check with others. Good luck, WBR

What WBR states is correct...shipped separate the frames with c&b cyl. and there if no FFL needed.
ship your R&D conversion cyl's  in another package and label as parts and your within the law.. Federally that is....

Now That's FLORIDA.... but New York , New Jersey, the Peoples Repubiik of Calif. and perhaps Ill. may see it differently
I'd call your friendly local FFL dealer to ask.

I'll try and post a picture here... they are taken down from the main branch of the antler and are pretty solid...

If the frames have been modified to permit cartridge loading without removing the cylinders they are considered firearms.

What I've see posted is that if the frames have been modified to load cartridges without removing the conversion cylinders then you have "manufactured a firearm" and not being a "firearms manufacturer" you can't sell them at all.   You don't state what kind of conversion cylinders you have.  Again, . . not the "gospel truth" . . . just what I've seen posted in responce to questions such as yours.  Good shootin'. . . post pictures of the pistols . . .  :)
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

They are the drop in cylinders...I have not modified the pistol frame.

Many states treat muzzleloaders as firearms. Cabela's has a listing of places they cannot ship to- NY.NYC, Wash DC, Hawaii, etc. It is a good guide where NOT to sell (or live). I agree to ship the cylinders seperate. Good luck
