Good portrait of the "family" Do the two outside ones have Treso nipples? They look somewhat copper in color. At first I thought "Geeze,  one of them's capped." But It looks like a brass colored set o'nips.
How has The brass framed gun you've been using for a couple of years held up? i.e. has there been any increase in gap from cylinder set back? Does the recoil shield get marred, galled, or marked by the cylinder from firing? Does it stay pretty slick on the back of the cylinder (I lube the heck outa my Remmies)? Do you shoot heavy loads in it (i.e. 30grs powder and conicals)? I just think the brass framed Remingtons are beautiful (like a blond lady) but can they take a beating?  Gads, that sounds sick. I mean, do they perform? That sounds sick too. Uh, you know what I mean........
"Frontiersman: the only category where you can shoot your wad and play with your balls while tweeking the nipples on a pair of 44s." Canada Bill

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!

Hellgate, . . . they are all loaded.   Around the "Desperate Hot Springs" Ca. area it is the wild west for real, and guns are a good thing to have and they aren't much good if they are not loaded.  Everything stays loaded.  The center one isn't capped.  The other two are.  The brass framed one on the right has had 200 + rounds of full loads thru it and I can't detect any loosness.  I tried 15gr. and filler and didn't like the Poop, poop, . . . I like  Boom, BOOM, . . . so if it shoots loose it becomes spare parts / wall hanger.  I've shot some conicals thru it but mostly round balls.  I like the looks of the brass ones even though not "histerically"  accurate.  This is about having "fun" !  And I'm havin' lots of it !   :)   Nipples are all the stock Pietta ones. Haven't had any trouble with them.  I recently puchases another steel framed one and Fed-Ex delivered it to the wrong address !  It is lost for good and the seller is getting compensated by Fed Ex and will refund to me when he does.  Will keep my eyes open for another one soon.  I have a steel frame Armi San Marco as well that was sold to me as being a Pietta.  I wasn't happy about that, but it was in far better condition that offered and was cheap. So I kept it as a back up.  Good shootin', . . . . Remington New Model Armys . . . .  :)   ps.  Just got new double belt gunfighter rig, . . . roller brass buckles on order for it and will post pictures when I have the buckles on it and all together with the pair of brass frame pistols.   :) :) :)  All FUN  :)

pps.  I had lube problems when I first started shooting and tried all sorts.  I found that "Farmer John Brand" works great.  Pure hog lard.  In hot weather I mix toilet bowl was and olive oil to use for over ball lube. Then put a thin .45 cal. wad over the lube. I then keep the pistol in barrel down position so that any melt of the lube doesn't seep by into the powder.  I had that happen the first summer here  ( 120 degree weather ) and the contaminated powder went puff, fuff, poop . . instead of BOOM.
