Howdy!

Does anybody know where to find the type of estuchions that Remington used, rather than the round ones used today?

Thanks

For escutcheons of that type - I'd first try Dixie - then VTI.

Or - look for a damaged pair of Remington grips and get them from there.

That may prove the fastest...

Good Luck.

Good idea 'bout the damaged originals.

I've got an old Dixie catalog (2004-2005 or so) and I didn't see them there, but as I was looking quickly - before I posted, I could have missed them.  I think the VTI ones are the standard round ones, but instead of just looking at their schematic picture, I'll call them.

SHB,
I think the only ones you can buy today are the round ones, but with a little work on them you can make a reasonable facsimile of the original ones. Remember the the one side that the screw head goes in has 3 spikes on it and the other side has two.

Aha!

Thanks - I thought BOTH sides had 2!  Are they evenly spaced?  Have you a photo?

Don't have a photo yet.
Screw head side(Left side on NMA & N) has 3 evenly spaced beginning at 12:00 oclock 360 Degress -3 = 120 Degrees.
Right side(NMA & N) has two one at 12:00 o'clock and one at 6:00 o'clock. The screw head side are less pronounced than the one on the right side.

The Screw head is reversed on the New Police and the New pocket models(36's) and maybe the pocket model 31 Cal's too.
