:)  I was visiting my sister in Richmond VA and decided to take a tour of the Confederate White House located downtown. Next to that house was a museum that contained artifacts and descriptions of Confederate Civil War items. The upper floor had actual battle flags from Confederate units. Lots of Stars and Bars that would upset alot of politically correct people. On the first floor were actual uniforms worn by the most famous Confederate Generals, as well as their pistols and rifles. As interesting as all that was, I came across a display that had rifles used by the Confederates. There sitting in the middle of them was a Spencer Carbine. It looked in good condition with a fine reddish brown patina. As far as I could see into the glass case, it was an 1860 model.

Walksfire,

It is reported the CS Armory in Richmond Had a rather large number of Spencer's on hand by the Wars end.
These were not issued due to the lack of copper for making the cartridge cases.
