here's the text of the ad:
This is an 1864 Spencer Carbine Blakeslee "Quick Loader" cartridge box. This is an original and authentic Civil War era example of a very rare military accoutrement. Dubbed the "Quik Loader" by the soldiers this is one of 22,000 produce in 1864/1865 by Emerson Gaylord of Chicopee Massachusetts, under army ordinance department contracts. Spencer rifles and carbines could fire a round in the chamber and 7 shots from the magazine in less than 12 seconds. Colonel Erastus Blakeslee created a means to speed up the task of reloading the Spencers butt stock magazine with his "Quick Loader" cartridge box. Very few Blakeslee ten tube (cavalry model) cartridge boxes purchased by the US Army exist today. When the army abandoned the Spencer repeater in the early 1870's the "Quick Loaders" were sold to military surplus companies, and put into federal storage and most rotted away. The
Blaeslee "Quick Loader " is a testament to an inventive device that aided the evolution of repeating weapons.Rare to find in pristine condition with all ten tubes and intact hinge lid, and all leather in excellent condition including the original leather sholder strap. In fact it's only fault is that one tube is stuck tightly in it's wooden slot, and I have not wanted to free it by force.Originally purchased from Sharpsburg Arsenal and was a major part of the Don Stroops collection. This box is stamped E. Gaylord Chicopee Mass and numbered 33540. It shows a US stamping and the leather strap remains full length with original hooks and leather keeper. The box show 10 original tin tubes with outstanding tin finish remaining. The leather is superb with all stitching intact and  at least 95% or more of the leather finish remaining. The closing tab is fully secured , as is the rear belt loop, all brass hardware shows original patina. The box measures 12" high and comes with dealer papers of past ownership upon request. I've seen Blakeslee's for sale on web sites in relic condition for 3 to 5 thousand dollars, this Blakeslee is the best of the best and rarest of the rare. Sorry, no pay pal on this item as the fees are to high. Buyer pays all shipping costs which includes insurance. Thanks, Dave at Frontier-History.

Good photos though, lots of detail to make a accurate replica.
