I need a little help... on the Remington forged frame conversion ... 45 Colt
The little retaining spring screw that holds the extractor rod is missing.
I can't find the part at VTI , in their online catalog ... nor is VTI's CONTACT US feature working

so what is the part # , or size so I can try calling them.... or Taylors

I don't know it Uberti USA is still around. If yes I would check with them. Better alternative drop a mail with your request to Suzanne Webb at Uberti in Gardone (suzanne.webb@ubertireplicas.it). She is very responsive and cooperative.

Some yes...some no

Uberti USA ..directs me to Benelli ..which prompts me to contact the direct importer so...
I contact Taylor's which has not responded as yet.
I've contacted Suzanne Webb email... no response as yet.

VTI ..responded but does not have that part yet ( gun is still kinda new on the market)
Dixie said send size  :-\ I don't know it's lost  ::)
Brownells asked the size too...

well I've only tried two days... I'll give them some time to catch up and respond.

I will have to check with the gunsmith regarding this part – we will get back to you.

How about ordering one for the older Ubertis and seeing if it will fit? It would make sense that Uberti would use the same screw in both types. For $2.60 it's worth a try.

Thats the Cap & Ball  .. no extractor screw .... which screw do you think is the same ?

VTI said they did not stock it yet....but one might cross use another screw ...

Marshal Will Wingam

My mistake. I didn't know the extractor took a screw there. It looked like you were indicating the back side of the loading lever screw. My apologies. Can you take the extractor mechanism off and run it down to the hardware store to find a set screw that would fit the threads? If so, you would at least have the thread size and that might help you get the right item.

Any chance that it is American threads??? My gun shop carries a wide assortment of screws(Brownell's does too.)
I have gotten several screws from them that worked in the Euroarms, Uberti and the Pietta's and even my Originals.
Just a thought.

That's is my next direction... if Taylor's does not come through.
I'll take it to my Toy Store ...and see what he might have.
It either came this way from Bernie, or wiggled loose some how and I did not notice it when I shot it.

AK
This is the gun Tuolumne Lawman traded me.. It's a peach.
I have refinished the grips to a warm pleasing Walnut , under that red varnish.
I like 45 Sch. through it, as I pair it with my OT , but it is a sweet shooter with Black Hills 45LC.
Bernie , used this gun for his Gun test Article, he like it so well he bought it after the gun test.
I don't know if he adj the front sight, but it shoots extremely close to POA @ 10 yds. with the Schofields.
That picture is actually from TL, I think is from the test article.
The screw is present, in those photos... I took some after I did the grips ( going to look to see is I caught an angle and see if it was present  here )  ;) (update ...I did not catch a view of that area in my photos  ::) just the grip refinish job)

TL has since picked up a 5 1/2" version to replace this one....

here is what is under the red varnish ( a little stripper and some burlap or 0000 & a little elbow grease )

I am sorry I just haven't had a chance to get back to you.  We don't have parts for these guns yet – Tom said he doesn't have anything that will work in it either.  The UBERTI factory is on holiday the month of August – so I can't call them and ask them to ship me something by mail either.
I can put an order up for you and contact the factory so as soon as they get back we may be able to get you a quick solution.  At least we sure can try.  I apologize for this problem and I don't even have a new gun I could 'steal' the part for you.
Let me know if you want me to go ahead and put the order in for you – or do you have another solution.

Thanks,
Sue

That's nice of her and quite responsive kudos to Taylor's ( I especially liked the line "...don't even have a new gun I could 'steal' the part for you "  that would be above the line of duty.

So VTI & Brownell's are a bust...Dixie did not even respond.
Suzanne Webb @ Uberti is on vacation and has not responded....Taylor's is trying.

I don't see myself walking into a Hardware Store with the gun asking for a Screw....  ;D
I just might get SCREW'd".....  :o

OK Major here is my Plan B: I understand that cowboys are helping each other. I also hear that famous CAS shooter Long Hunter aka Jim Finch of Long Hunter Shooting Supply (806-365-0093, longhunt@xit.net) and other US shooters will be attending next week's European CAS Championship in Brescia/Italy. As surely as it never rains in Southern Calilornia this one will be attended by Giaccomo Merlino, Boss of Uberti who are a major sponsor of the event.
I am telling you a little known fact now: Giaccomo goes nowhere, gun show, shooting event, you name it whithout his attachè-case stuffed with all the little Uberti spare parts that could possible get lost or break or create any other nuisance...These just have to meet (Suzanne Webb will probably there to translate) at official functions or on the range...
You see what I am driving at? You may want to consider asking Jim to connect with Giaccomo regarding your screw...and I would be surprised if you where not having it hand-delivered one week later to the USA, directly from this attachè-case.

Major....
If you can't find the screw from one of the suppliers...remove the dove tailed piece from the frame, send it and the spring and I'll make you a screw.
