Gents,
Here's the wierd post of the day. I took my M-H pocket army DA and an M-H SA out to shoot.
The single action shot fine, but the double action kept jamming in half cock. I pulled the trigger, the hammer would fall
to half cock and jam. I'd have to manually turn the cylinder and open the action. Once the action was opened it worked fine.
This didn't happen ever time but it happened enough to be a worry. I removed the side plate, looked at the internal workings
and realized how complicated M-H DA's are. Anyone have any thoughts?

Try 'hosing' it out with WD-40, without removing any of the innards - to remove any minute particles that may impede movement.

Then - a small dot of lube at each 'reachable' bearing point.

Reassemble the sideplate - and try.

Dave Chicoine's 'Gunsmithing the Guns of the Old West' is a valuable book to own - so get a copy.

Merwin, Hulberts were ingeniously made firearms - but those springs are getting pretty tired.

Good Luck.

That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!
