G'day...

For .45Colt I use a Lyman T-mag II turret press with Lee dies, a Lee Auto Prime hand tool, a brass adjustable volume powder measure with funnel, a 3' droptube with funnel, a turned Tassie oak dowel rod for compression, a home-made 1.25" plywood 50-hole loading block... and complete each full step before advancing to the next.

Still experimenting,

L.I.B.! Just looked at the Lee Web site and ran the little clip of the Classic Turret in action and lo and behold, it auto-indexes. I had no idea. I'll be ordering one pronto. Thanks for all the replies pards.

My suggestion is to order through Midway.

I started out 25 years ago learning to load on an RCBS Rockchucker... I lost count how many thousands of rounds I loaded on that old machine.

I stopped loading when I went into the Army, and didn't pick it back up until about 3 years ago, when I had my own house and some space was made on the back porch. I stepped back into it by picking up a used Dillon SDB set up from a pard at work. I loaded on it for a couple of years with great success and few complaints, until the Mrs. decided to pick me out a new press for Christmas last year. She ended up getting me a Dillon 650 with case feeder, all the bells and whistles, a new bench, and spare tool head set up for my "other guns' (press was purchased in .45 Colt, and spare tool head was in .45 ACP).

I could not be happier with this set up. It is extremely FAST and works wonderfully. I load 777 and smokeless on it, and have picked up a couple of additional caliber conversions and tool head set ups for it since then. I will likely never buy another press.
