Delmonico,,,I said sorry for my mistake.

You get no more.

If you wish to cast stones and banter,,,I choose not to participate and exibit a childish nature, by involving myself in such a thing on the CAS forum.

If you wish to continue your insults by email, feel free to do so.

Reasonable discussion of intended private shoot I will continue to address with those interested.

Marshal Deadwood

Delmonico

Thats fine, but folks need to do their research before they cast stones.  Did you ever bother looking at the NCOWS website?

Back to the basics guys,,,

I will be posting dates of The Pale Posse Shoot tomorrow.

This will be a 'reasonable expectation' of historical accuracy event, as to offer a wider range of folks a good weekend. We can discuss the finer points at this shoot of the NEXT shoot, that will probably be in the early spring.

I am not the sole holder of the truth, and would appreciate ANY input,,,some very good advice has already been offered via email...

I am merely offering a range and event to folks, that who for the bigger part, will be more educated historically than myself. Please feel your assistance as greatly appreciated and NEEDED.

Were you to wish to discuss particulars by phone contact me for my personal home phone number please.

I will do all in my power to accommodate anyones/everyones questions and advice.

Mike......................

Now.......you and I have shared some real fine times in the woods these past 30 plus years.....we've done things and lived on things that most guys that shoot SASS wouldn't, couldn't even start to comprehend.

That said, NCOWS is what you want and you can take it to the bank from an old Indian friend that has shared the hard core life style that we have.

NCOWS, and the direction they are heading now is what got me hooked and we're seeing more like minded individuals joining every day...... Individuals that want a more historically correct organization to belong to and not just your run of the mill, bang and clang ALS (assembly line shooting) CAS club.

Bill,,,What I was saying,,wheneth I made my mistake bout rugers and bp,,,was merely musing about how to get some shooters out TO teh shoot,,,that,,I might do this private shoot first,,to see what interest lay in my area,,and I thought it might be easier to have an intital shoot, on a more 'free lance' formatte,,and give folks new to this an insight, and folks that are old hands, a chance to educate ME at the gathering. I never meant what I said, though I guess I said it wrongly, to be in competition with NCOWS,,or as an insult to NCOWS.

I wish to ,,when I get with the shooters,,,is lay out the option of having our NCOWS possee here in southwest, Va.

You are top shelf Bill,,,and yea,,we'v been to were the hair grows on the bear , aint we brother? !

marshal i've got into this shooting thing, about 1980 with my cousin. we shot pre 1890. dressed period, 1 pistol, 1 rifle. how many people in the past could have carried more on a horse?

Marshal Deadwood

Amen Boot Strap !

I personally think that a one pistol one rifle category would be marvelous.

I'd say that was the norm for someone to have been carrying 'most' of the time.

Shoot less in a set, shoot wee small targets, shoot more accurate, and forget the hi-tech timer.

And, at least show up looking like a 'possible' character out of history.

Amen again Boot Strap !  Good show o' chap !

Again,  you are describing a very popluar shooting category currently present in...................  NCOWS.  It is called WORKING COWBOY.  With our NCOWS group it is the most popular shooting category.    Peronally,  I think you should listen to your good friend Bill who is also a member of the Great Lakes Freight and Mining Company.  NCOWS is what you are describing.  Safe shooting.

Yes, I read this in the NCOWS regs. I was merely reinforcing the notion with out spelling it out and pissin' some folks off out in cyber land,,,that some folks, persuing the hobby,,,can not afford 4 guns to start shooting enjoy shooting.

I was not refering to NCOWS.

I think this was wise of NCOWS,,very wise, and very much more historic slanted.

Cheers for 'working cowboy' class.

I have to give an amen to the "starting out can't afford 4 guns" comment.  Especially on a fixed income.

Wish I'd found CAS when I was making great money on the river.

Or I'd win the lottery.

Or God would decide to rain guns down on Waverly, MO one afternoon.
I'd settle for either.

Hoping to get the '73 clone out of lay-away next month.

Long days and pleasant nights,

Marshal Deadwood,
Any word on the dates? I am very interested in getting a NCOWS posse started here in VA and am willing to help you toward that goal. Even if you decide to wait a while to do that I am interested in your shoot if I can get off work.
