SASS legal revolver?

Would the Colt 1862 Police model .36 be a SASS legal main match revolver? It is a five shooter but has pins between chambers that the hammer rests on. Thanks,

No, It would only be legal in pocket pistol side matches. The way the rules are worded the hammer has to rest on an empty chamber.

Rule 4 under the category Safety Practices on page 21 of the current SASS handbook states:

"Five shooters may load five rounds, but the hammer must rest on a dummy chamber or safety slot in the cylinder so the hammer does not rest on a live round/cap."

This is a recent addition to the rules, and I missed it the first time, however, I don't see any other rules prohibiting this particular pistol from being used as a main match revolver.

If so, I know my next revolver.

That rule change might allow a Le Mat Revolver for main match!!  That would be a hoot!!
