I made this over the weekend out of some scrape 1018 steel to see if it would work, & it does.

I don't know how good it shows up in the photos but it gives a perfect original Henry style cartridge crimp (complete with four little tits) for a heeled bullet.

After the the NRA convention this weekend, I'll make one out of tool steel and refine the looks a little and get rid of that allen screw.  By the way.....it takes very little pressure to get the proper crimp.

This would be a perfect tool to carry in our gear to roll your own around the camp fire....keep the water bucket handy.....!!

Four little tits just like the original henry copper cased heeled bullet.

Well, that is just plain cool!  Thanks OCB.  Is that the CF Henry Flat cartridge you worked up and rechambered your .45 Henry for?

Ottawa Creek Bill

Dusty.....
Yea...thats the cartridge...... .44 colt with a .452 heeled bullet. The crimp sets right down in the crimping groove of the bullet.

The large cylinder in the top two photos is my go/no go gauge I made for the Henry cartridge.
