Halfway Creek Charlie

Just got this a few days ago and haven't had the chance to post it.
it is a Non-Remington Factory Conversion in 44 C.F.
It is a Transition Model NMA in the 33,0XX S/N range and it has all the inspector marks in the right places and one in a place I had never seen before.
This has Ainsworth A's all over it Both sides of the bbl at the breech end, both sides of the frame near the cylinder and bbl. A C near the cylinder on the left side of the frame. An A on the TG. S near the hammer An H between the Tg and the Left Grip and a c under the TG on the frame, and c's on the gripsflats. There is a C on the cylinder near the chamber mouth end. The cartouche is there but unreadable due to the weathering of the wood grips. This old girl was used but not abused. She also has conversion numbers in the right places and on the cylinder Pin and the cylinder.

Here is the the Sub inspector Markings near the hammer and between the TG and the left Grip. The H is the one I haven't seen before.

Is there anyone out there that can tell me what the H signifies? I know it's a sub Inspector mark.

I'm assuming original .44 Colt and if so have you shot it?

The presentation case is for one of my 2nd Gen Colts. Remy won't fit in it. I just needed a firm base to show the remy on. It is not a Colt box but i do not believe it to be an original case,  60's or 70's maybe. I'll see if I can take apicture of the interior of the case. It has red felt in it. It does have felt or such under the case.

Is that one of the donut cylinder conversions you were talking about in one of your earlier posts, HCC?  How did they attach the donut?  Welded or silver soldered?  I need to get that new book about Remington conversions 'cause there's so much stuff I don't know.  I was a serious welder (mainly Tig) for a lot of years (still keep my hand in); did some silver soldering down the line.  If done properly, it's one of the best methods for joining dissimilar metals with different melting points.  But I don't know enough about metallurgy, especially in a historical sense as applied to gunsmithing/conversions.
Enough about my ignorance.  That's a beautiful gun!  Have you fired it yet?  Congrats on your acquisition.

It is one of the two piece Cylinders with the forward piece being the remains of the C & B cylinder, it has a C sub inspector mark on it. and the doughnut is brazed to the cylinder. Most I have seen of the two piece cylinders are brazed together. I think Silver Solder would work too.
