Two Flints

CIVIL WAR SMITH CARBINE PAPER CARTRIDGE:  An excellent, like new example of the Civil War Smith Carbine Cartridge, one of the "big five" carbines of the war.  The cartridge consists of a lead bullet seated in a hard paper tube with a red paper base impregnated with fulminate solution.  In very nice condition, the cartridge is complete, in full form, with the lead bullet firmly attached, and showing no signs of wear or age due to storage.  This is a prime example of the Smith Carbine cartridge, a fairly scarce cartridge due to a low survival rate through the years.
