I've made a bunch of belts and thought I'd try my hand at making a buckle.  The front is woven strips sewn onto the border which in turn is sewn onto the back cover.  The inside is an old brass buckle I had. Standard loop and hook fastener and takes a 1 3/4 wide strap.  This was fun.

I like it. The woven leather insert is a nice touch. Tooled would be OK, but would lack the depth this has. Good idea.

I'm much obliged gents.  The comments are always appreciated.  Now I have to figure out an appropriate belt pattern to go with it.

Remember back in the '70's when they had those woven leather belts? I haven't seen one in a long time, but that's what your buckle made me think of instantly.
