You know, I've given up on the Type II. I think the photos on the Internet are part of a huge Italian "disinformation" plot to lure American shooters into a false sense of bliss!  ;D ;)

Marshal Deadwood

Pards,,ever notice,,ANY gun they dont have,,,,'they will be here in 30 to 90 days',,,,,ok,,thats NOT a human voice,,thats pre-recordedd computer voice,,,they get to that part, and just push a computer key and it says it to everyone.

I find the lady up at Taylors to be more on the up and up at times...she will say,,,,'its up the Uberti bunch,,I dont have a clue!',,,,I can live with that,,better than promises that never mature.

I agree with Marshall Deadwood.  Tammy from Taylors or T from T as I call her,  is much more "honest" when she says she doesnt really know.  Other companies simply need to admit they are at the mercy of the Italians.  Trouble is once any gun starts coming in there is such a long waiting list the time frame gets pushed back even further for number 300 on the waiting list.   I think I am probably about 301 on most lists.  Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

Deadeye Don: i fI add all the various comments in the different threads on the subject there must be at least 4 Richards II from Uberti's around, i. e.

one with Mike Harvey of Cimarron,

one with Beretta/Uberti USA (Shot Show 2007),

one in .45 Colt with Uberti/Gardone (personally photographed at the recent EXA in Brescia April 16, 07, pic available upon request), plus the
one

of yours truly in .44 Colt purchased last fall from HEGE, the German Uberti distributor.

Looks as if these are prototype's that are not yet mass produced so....maybe Uberti is testing the market place or if they get enough advance orders they will do a small run of them. All I know is this, when a number of people call and ask when will they be available to the public for sale and we get "another 60 to 90 days"(how many times has that happened?) That is a big RED FLAG! Someone here should start a thread on who would buy one of these revolvers and we should get some idea if it will be worth it to Uberti to mass produce them,I'm not so sure at this point although, I would buy one. Dusty.

HANCOCK

Didn't Cimarron ALREADY order enough to warrant the "mass production" of these??? That certainly is what we have been led to believe. They had them on their website as "new for 2006" , and a bunch of new calibers, and configurations in 2007.Cimarron must have 46 different calls a day asking when? Do THEY have to up THEIR order to get Uberti's attention?    Just how many hundred people are on this list? Thats quite a few grimmy little mits full of hundred dollar bills, just waiting to be sent to Texas.
We all have heard about the "special relationship" that MH has with Uberti . He tells them what he wants, and they produce it . How much pull does he really have ? Is there a way that we could get Mike to give us a strait answer? Maybe even on this board? Maybe even to this post?   I think that we all have been pretty good customers of his company, I have. But I am feeling a little put off on this one. I'm thinking that he has their number right there on his roll o dex, maybe even on speed dial. Maybe he could give them a call. and then report back to us on just WHATS THE PROBLEM.????   I think as customers, we deserve that much. Not the standard 60 to 90 days , thats old.

Maybe Chapparrel might be interested in getting into the revolver business? They seem to be able to get things done, and fullfill promises, and listen to their customers. (I'm one of them too).

Bootsie, maybe you could run over there for us , and ask them. Germany ain't that big is it.(bring along that RM II maybe they need a pattern).

Remember folks, Mike Harvey established his relationship with Aldo Uberti himself, who died in 1999. Uberti was then bought (3 or 4 yrs. ago) by Beretta. I don't know if any of you have worked for a large corporation after it was bought out but it's usually FUBAR for several years. I simply believe that Uberti has so many "irons in the fire" that they can't keep up. As they make the most varied assortment of replica firearms I don't want to anger them. Who's going to make them then, Ruger?  ::)

Yes, just like all of you I want a Richards Type  II, but I've managed to shoot CAS for over 10 yrs. without one and done alright, so a little longer won't matter. Who among you would have ever dreamed of ANYONE making an Open Top, RM or S&W clone 10 - 15 yrs. ago? Whenever you get angry over "waiting periods" just compare what the Italians have done for us as opposed to our own manufacturers in this age of In Line plastic muzzleloaders.

When we finally get our Richards Type II I'm sure we'll all be singing praises and forget our impatience. I'll step down from the soapbox now.

The Avocado Kid

Well,I can say this-the gun shops I have been too(big CAS dealer) where I live have never heard of the RM type 11 revolver and say they don't know anything about this revolver going into production, very strange indeed ::) I know some of them that work at these shops must go online from time to time and visit Cimarron and Taylor's because they sell these guns to CAS shooters,so....what gives? ??? Dusty.

Iguarantee, as soon as the Type II shows up on the market, some other prototype that is even more shiney will show up and everyone will be complaining about how slow that comes on the market.  Just enjoy what is out there and when something new comes on the market  (the real market, not the soon-come market) buy it.
