I need a new firing pin for my 1872 Open Top.  I know there is a gunshop in Rhode Island that has them, but I can't find there web site.

Anyone out there able to help me out?

Thanks.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Howdy Grapeshot,

http://www.thesmithshop.com/ then click "products"

I've heard the owner is ill, don't know if someone is still tending the shop.  Good luck.

update: just noticed on the website that Happy Trails says he won't be accepting new work until after his surgery, but that products will be available.

I understand VTI has them also they are a harden- heat treated firing pin.  They are not listed and you must ask for them.  I also understand you must open the flash hole some to allow them to pass thru.

Grapeshot,

Lil Rooster is correct.  VTI has the hardened pin from "The Smith Shop" and you do need to open the flash hole a mite to allow the pin to clear.  VTI also has the Uberti hardened firing pin for the '72 Open Top.

To all who answered, Thank you.  I contacted The Smith Shop and talked to Mr. English.  A very nice man and he says he's doing better now that his plumbing has been overhauled.  It was a pleasure doing business with him.

BTW   VTI now has them listed, on their web site, under OT parts
