Howdy Doc.  In the past if the stage started with the revolver I would start standing more like your first photo.  If the stage started with the rifle  or you moved to a second shooting position I think I faced the targets more squared up.  You've probably noticed more about how I do it then I am aware of myself.   Obviously the gunfighter shooters are using the squared up stance shooting their revolvers one handed.  I'm going to try shooting double duelist and unless I really have  trouble hitting the targets with my left hand, figure that I'll stick with that a while.  Who knows, maybe some gunfighter.  See ya,   Smokin Gator

Hey Doc
I use the duelest stance almost exclusively. I find it the most comfortable and (blush) I usually end up clanging the intended target or if paper punch a hole in the "kill zone." I'm slow but I usually hit my target.

"A gun is  just a tool. No better and no worse than any other tool----- Think of it always in that way. A gun is as good--- and as bad--- as the man who carries it. Remember that."
