Well not recruiting ....... well, sort of .. I guess.

I'm basically a champion of the Open Top.  No, Really!!  I really like the Open Top!!!  The real problem is I'm a sucker for Conversions.  I started chasing Conversions with ASM built guns (was that ever a bumpy road) and AFF (they went bust too).  All my prior conversions were either 1861s or 1860s.  No Navies.  I learned my lessons with ASM well, and every time a couple of ASM Navies came available, I looked 'em over real hard and had to pass ...... they were ....... well ..... crap.  One of my shooting partners has a pair of ASM Navies that work real well.  They should, I built 'em.  But, He won't sell 'em.  So I have had this continuing lust for Navies.  I wanted '51 Richards.  Note.  Wanted.  Past Tense.

I broke down an ordered a pair of Richards-Mason Navies.  Had to have that octagonal barrel.  Consecutive numbers (don't know why I did that, consectuives never tune up the same), the whole enchalada.  I gotta say ....... it was a good move.  These guns took very little tuning and run very well.  I did lose the first couple of inches of barrel (hate when that  happens) so the barrels are now the same length as the ejector rod housing.  I was also concerned with the rear sight (if you could call it that) in the hammer nose.  You don't need the rear sight.  Just settle that great big glorious brass bead on the barrel and fire away.  Very Nice Guns.  Wish I'd done it sooner.  Now watch, the cretin with the '51 Richards will want to sell 'em.
