I saw a used SAA .45LC with the brand name Hartford on the barrel. I believe it had a brass backstrap, wood grips. Price was under $300, IIRC.
Who made these guns, how is the quality? I'm looking for someone who has owned and shot one, please.
I'm not a CASS shooter, but I love SAA's and have been shooting them off and on for over 30 years, but don't currently own one.
I want a shooter.

Thanks for any help.

I've got two.  The first one I bought used and was made by ASM.  I bought it used, so I don't know how the previous owner treated it or did to it.  I have on occasion had it happen that the hammer didn't strike the primers firmly enough.  It doesn't happen frequently enough to do anything about it.  The second one I bought new this year; it was made by Uberti and is very nice.

Before buying the second one, I read a bunch of posts on this forum about the Uberti Hartford and felt secure that it was a good purchase.  All you need to do is type in Hartford in the search box and that should bring you a bunch of results.

Thank you, sir. Did a search and re-examined the gun, decided to pass. Will keep looking.
