Would the Colt 1862 Police model .36 be a SASS legal main match revolver? It is a five shooter but has pins between chambers that the hammer rests on. Thanks,

Ned

I would like to know about SASS legal on the '62 Pocket Police too.
Its a gorgeous graceful sidearm.
If it is indeed legal, that might be my next purchase.

Yes, BUT: you would have to charge all 5 chambers, cap 4, with the hammer down on the one uncapped (5th) chamber. After the buzzer, put on half cock, rotate the cylinder, cap the open chamber and THEN shoot the gun as directed. You would have to do this for every stage where 5 shots are needed. It is not "legal;" to have the hammer down between chambers on the safety pins. At least not in SASS shoots. You could use in in those rare stages where there is a 5 shot "reload" where you stash the fully charged (all 5 chambers) but uncapped gun where the "reload" is to take place and merely pick it up and cap all 5 and shoot it. It would cost you a few seconds ever stage but what the hell? No one's breaking any speed limits with the perCUSSIN' revolvers anyway.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!
