Alright pards... I just got myself a set of Uberti 1858 New Army replicas, a brace of R&D cylinders, and a might fine looking holster rig with Mexican double loop holsters... I got referred to this site by Gunner (don't hold that against me!), and am now interested in join'in this here out fit... what do I gotta do to earn a membership?

I haven't had the guns long enough to shoot a match with them, and I think I may need to work on one of them before that can happen (HEAVY springs and very tight cylinder gap with the R&D Cylinder), but I intend to start shooting these fine pointing pistols as soon as I can....

Info or direction would be appreciated.

To join, contact papa Bear and it'll be a done deal. papabear@inreach.com

To make those things shoot right, lighten the mainsprings. Here's a thread on that: http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,13008.0.html

Congrats, I shoot conversions as my main match pistols and can't think of any finer pistols.

Thanks Marshal Wil.

I am sending Papa Bear an e-mule.

I already read that thread, but thanks for the link.

I did some work on the Remmies today and got the springs replaced and the cylinder gap opend up enough that when I went to the range, I shot over 100 rounds out of them without one hitch in my gitty up... Did notice that I had to lube that cylinder pin just about every other cylinder full in order to keep them from binding....

I understand that is the case with BP. I shoot smokeless in my conversions and have no issues with binding up.

A little lightening on those springs sure can make a difference. ;D

It was night and day as far as the difference in these guns. I can't imagine trying to shoot an 8 stage match with those original springs... My thumbs would protest something fierce!
