I did read the caliper wrong. The manufactured round is 1.566 and the one I ran is 1.564 does that sound ok to run some through?

I'm feeling mightly alone here in the dark and no guiding hand in sight.

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO are you there

I don't know what the original question/subject is about. You have not referenced it in your posting. If you are talking OAL for the .357mag you are about right. My Rossis like SWCs @1.55" and other shapes of bullets a little longer or shorter. You are only talking .002". That's 2 THOUSANDTHS of an inch. Not a real significant difference to most guns. .02" (two HUNDREDTHS) might make a difference in feeding or accuracy but not .002".

that length sounds better...it will work in your rifle and revolvers.
get one of those digital calipers...a lot easier on the eyes.  cabela's has one for around 27 dollars.

did your reloading press come with a reloading manual?  you really need a good manual and no distractions when you are reloading.  When my wife or kids are trying to talk to me while i'm reloading...I just stop...done.  You really have to concentrate on what you are doing and think safety.

let us know how you are making out.

At first, I had no idea what round you were talking about either, since you didn't post your follow-up message in the same thread as your original question - you can do that by posting a "reply" in your own thread, by the way, or can go back and "edit" your original message.   Anyway, having now located your earlier post,  I see that you were asking about the .45 Colt cartridge ....

FWIW, the maximum over all length for .45 Colt (SAAMI specs) is 1.60" .... so theoretically, any handgun or rifle properly manufactured for that round should function satisfactorily with cartridges up to that length.   (However, "pushing the envelope" at that upper end could result in problems starting up, I imagine.  Mind you,  I have one "semi-antique" factory round here in my den that mikes out at 1.592" OAL ....   :o  )
