i have a couple of enflield .38 S&W/200 top breaks (brit models). p.u. starline cases through cabela's. these cases are just a bit oversized for .38/.357 dies. was given a couple of boxes of factory loads and these cases are oversized as well.  can reload if i don't resize? any advice for reloading? thanks in advance. geo.

I have used 9mm luger dies with the .38 Spl case holder.  I had them, so no expense.  Had to adjust them way-up, but satisfying noises were the result!

I to have used used the 9mm Luger dies for my 38 S&W rounds.  SInce I only shoot BP in these I have had no problems.

Speaking of the .38 S&W... has anyone worked up a good starting load using Trail Boss powder and 158 grain bullets?

Sincerely,

Now where did I put that fuming nitric acid?

Does anyone smell smoke?

Howdy,

Does anyone have experience with the 140 gr. .358 dia. FN Cowboy Swaged bullets available from Buffalo Arms?  Since I would only be shooting them from my Belgian British Bulldog, I guess that the 158 gr. SWC Hollow Base would work too. ???  Thanks!!

I used 358 hollow base in a Original Colt pocket Navy I had that was converted to .38 Colt CF (healed .375)  They worked OK at 10 yards or less. I used BP and a sel of 38 Special dies with brass I shortened.  I also load 38 S&W for my 1890s vintage H&R top break using a LEE die set.  Inexpensive and works great.
