  For several days I have been doing an unscientific survey, The NCOWS site on CAS CITY consistantly has the second or third highest number of guests on all of C C. Usually 30-40, sometimes 50. Now don't get me wrong we like having you all stop by, but it seems like you all would get much more of an NCOWS experience if you could get on the NCOWS members only chamber. Much more interesting info there.               jt

Hey Trap a lot of those guests that you see browsing the forums are bots or spiders from search engines scanning the site for links and for search terms.

I knew that, learn't it the other day on another foroum board, don't know what a bot is and don't know how a spider can crawl through a cable but I guess if that's what they tell me I'll believe it. ;D

  A bot is a fly larva which pupates under the skin of an animal then comes out as an adult through the skin. Nasty critters! jt

They call them spiders because they crawl the web and they don't crawl through the cables they crawl through threads.  So they start out at one web site and they crawl from a link on that site to a link on another site and another and another.  Documenting and indexing and creating the data that search engines use.

Bot is short for web robot.

This reminds me.  It's time again to run Spybot.  Thanks for the reminder.

About the NCOWS members only chambers, I guess I'll wait until I become a member.  Until then, I get lots of good info righ'chere.  ;D

So does a "Computer Geek" bite off the head of live computers?

As far as being a guest, the closest NCOWS Passie is KY and that is a long hall from the Cracker State.

  You don't have to be near a posse to get the benefits of being an NCOWS member. You might even like it and talk to a few friends, and pretty soon ,,,,,,,,poof you have enough to START an NCOWS posse of your very own.

I have a REAL spider that lives on my computer at home.  Looks quite healthy!

I am wona dem NCOWS members that has never attended a NCOWS match.  I tell everyone'a dem SASSY types, that I get to shoot with, who I am, and get a lot of respect in return.  For that I am grateful to this/our organization.

I have no objection to visitors who are of good faith.  We owe them the respect I have received in my travels through CAS
