I finally got a set of Thunderer grips for my second '51 conversion.  Someday I'll send the grip frame to Bar-S grips for a set of pearls to match the first gun.  Pic:

I know these aren't historically accurate, but I like 'em and they shoot great!

Happy New Year!

How did you get a Thunderer grip frame on a 51 front end?  That looks very cool.  I am very inrterested.

Triggersmith,
The Cimarron (Uberti) Thunderer grip frame bolts right onto the Cimarron (Uberti) Richards-Mason frame.  Piece of cake!  In my case, no fitting required.  I've known of a few who have tried this that the grip frame mounting holes line up fine but the width of the top of the backstrap was a little oversized and needed thinning to match the width of the gun frame.

Howdy Sir Charles,
The scratching was done by Kelly Laster.  In fact, I believe this was the first time he had attempted this pattern.  He made clay impressions of an Uberti-engraved '51 which he then copied.  Then I sent the frames to Doug Turnbull for case-hardening.

BEAUTIFUL, Abilene!

And yours are cool, too, Flint.  Sometimes authenticity gets nudged over a bit for cool.
Hey - I don't shoot NCOWS EXCLUSIVELY!   ;) ;D
