Here's a holster I kind of threw together for my new Cimarron "51" R-M. Experimenting with patterns until I find the sweet spot.   I got the idea from one of the holsters in Packing Iron.  As you can see I'm a lefty.  The color is about 3 coats of British tan.

Very nice work, Pard. This holster looks fine. Congrets.  ;)

Nice looking holster.  It looks like the laced loop is just a pocket for the holster.  How is the holster attached to the skirt?

That's great. I like the laced loop. It gives it nice character.

The holster is made just like a Mexican loop style holster.  The rear of the holster is folded over at 30 degrees and the lacing flaps work like the loop.  Sort of like my Bowie knife sheath.
Thanks for the comments Gents.  I'm working on another bandoleer holster rig.  That's more comfortable for me.

Beautiful work. A real one of a kind holster !
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Nice looking holster.  What did you use to get the nice even creasing on the holster face?

I used a adjustable groover.  I rarely cut any lines.  I do a double groove and use the nose of a bone folder on both sides of the groove. Depending on the angle of the folder you can get different groove effects from sharp to more rounded.  If you want a deeper groove, just go over it again.  I used to cut the line and used a beveler but it took too long and I didn't like the effect.  For me this is smoother for border lines.
