Howdy to the camp!

Well, good news.  After supplying the local FFl with some excess trade goods, he agreed to DROS any author guns I decide to keep to me for a flat $35 including state fees.  This means I get to keep the Uberti factory 1858 .45 Colt gated conversion and the 1872 Open top in 45 Colt I recently got for articles.  In fact, they are safe in my loving embrace with m y Henry and Spencer.  The 1858 Remington gated conversion is the actual gun featured in the photos in the new Taylor's catalog.

Now I have to  decide whether to use the 1872 in 45 Colt, or the uBerti forged frame 1858 with the R&D as my second CAS gun. That is as tough as deciding whether to shoot my Spencer or Henry as my main match rifle <g>

Sorry to hear about your surgry.  :o  Hope you have a speedy recovery.

If you need someone to take your guns out and exercise them I would be pleased to drive across PA just to provide that service. :D I'm sure you will receive plenty of offers to do this but I want to be at the front of the line.  ;)
