When I bought the 1890 Remington, it came with  well worn wood grips.
Since they only came with rubber. pearl or ivory, i bought these repro rubber grips, to be authentic.
Well , I'm sorta leanin' towards leaving  the old wooden grips on.
Anybody else have an opinion?

Hard rubber (Gutta Percha) grips were very common in the late 1800s on Colt SAA, M&H, and Remingtons.  I like them, and personally think they are under represented in CAS.  I have always been a Henry/Spencer early old west snob, but lately have started to appreciate the waning years also.

I'd go with the Hard Rubber.

Well,...just going by your pictures,...them ole wooden grips are mighty pleasing to look at,......and must feel like an old friend in the hand. I'm not that much of a purist , though, when it comes to grips, and could just as well live with a well worn and pleasant looking set of grips even if they weren't  the ones that was that common for that  piece & period. ;)

I think I have to agree that the hard rubber is more classic looking. It makes a good contrast to the nickel.
