Ok, I just had my Rugers rebarreled cause I was gettin 5 inch groups at 50 feet.  Now I get 1 hole groups at that distance.

What size groups are you willing to settle for with your Cowboy revolvers?

Doc,

If I shoot off hand I get 2-3 inch group 1-2 using a rest, remember mine are .45

What I was wondering Doc, did your revolvers come shooting that big group?  Or did they get that way over time.  And if so how many rounds did you have to put down range before they got that way?

When I got them they were printing about an inch and a half.  Then one day I noticed that they were really bad (trouble hitting an 18 yard 10 inch circle at a Steel Challenge match).  I cleaned them thouroughly and printed on paper.  Really bad groups.  This was after about 10,000 rounds through each gun.

My suspicion is that they were just in spec from the factory and a little wear made them much worse.

When they got dirty again, they leaded up some, and shot much tighter groups.  Rather odd.

Anyway, the new barrels are much better!
