I picked up one of these a few months back and it is slick. There sure is a lot of contravercy bout this pump gun. Im pretty new at this sport and dont really anticipat competing in any regional, state, or national matches so the ban does not affect me, local clubs have been very receptive of the 93/97 and lots of shooters really like the gun, any cance it could be approved by the Wild Bunch? Or are ther just too many hard feeling with them and Cap.

As far as I know, any Tg item CAN be revisited if there is a fresh rule change request submission after three years have passed.

That said, it's not been one year yet, and IIRC the WB TOLD the TGs that the recently adopted rule on pump shotguns restricting them to the '97 was gonna be enacted with or without TG support.

I'd sooner buy stock in Enron than bet the farm on the 93/97 getting approved in this decade.

John, the likelihood of the 93/97 ever being approved for use in SASS is nil (IMHO). The WB has enacted the current ban on that shotgun, and its not about to go away.

The 93/97 is street legal for Western Three Gun at all levels.

If your local clubs let you compete in monthly matches with the 93/97 consider yourself lucky. Not all SASS clubs let any unapproved firearms to be used in monthly matches since SASS clubs are supposed to enforce all SASS rules at their shoots.

There are some reports from the convention.  As to rule, etc. the 93/97 wasn't even mentioned.

Lefty Dude

I talked to Cap at the convention, there will be no more 93/97 made ever. And from what I understand IAC is not planning on making any more 97's. TTN representative is in China now, he left Monday. They are having quality control issues. If they can not be resolved they will also stop any further production of the 97.

I was in Evil Roys seminar on Shotguns at the convention. He has switched over and is now shooting an SKB double. He stated he has had too many 97 malfunctions in major matches this past year. He is commited to a double and will not return back to the 97.

The matches I shoot I see more and more Cowboys shooting doubles. I started CAS with a 97, and am now shooting a SXS hammerless.

I was told at the convention that the 93/97 will never ever be approved by the WB. Forget it and never bring up the subject again.

This subject seems to bring up some emotional responces  ???
