I was shootin some of my reloads tonight and was doing really good...shooting nice groups and then...PFFFT!  Did I have a light load? I don't know...I've never had a PFFFT before.  So I had to take the cylinder out and sure enough I see a bullet stuck just past the forcing cone.  :(

I guess I will have to take a piece of wooden dowel and tap it back out.  Anything I should be aware of while doing this?  I don't like PFFFT!   >:(

I had one once. Forgot to put powder in the case, so it was just a primer. The boolit was stuck between the forcing cone and the cylinder so it locked up the cylinder. I used a section of a cleaning rod to push it back into the case.

Back when I was shootin' smokeless, I had missed puttin' powder in an entire row in my loading block.
The first time I got just a PFFFT, I thought it was just an oops, hammered it out with a wood dowel.
Next stage had it happen again, and realized there was a more prevalent problem.  Drove the bullet out with the dowel again.  From that point on I got a lot of funny looks from the other shooters as I shook each round, next to my ear, at the loading table before insertin' it in my handgun.  Since movin' on to the true powder, I've never had to worry about that problem again.  If I don't see powder at the case top, it don't get a boolit!!

I'm with you Russ T. on loading the one true powder.  Some one suggested (Uncle Jeff) Installing one of those little angled mirrors, re auto parts store bicylce shop dentist, to the stage on the press where you add the bullet. When your ready to place bullet on the case you can glance to the mirror and see if there is powder.

After I've added the powder, I run a flashlight down across the rows to ensure that all have powder in them, then I add the bullets.
