Howdy Pards,

Was roaming around GunsAmerica last night and there just plain a day is a MH Pocket Army with two, YES TWO barrels.  Since so many of you have expressed an interest in one of these, I though I would point you toward it.  A second mortgage should do the trick ;D ;D ;D  Does look nice though!

What a great looking gun! But, $8000 is WAY out of my price range.

'Course, I'm in the same boat! :'(  I did manage not to drool very much on my key board.

Easy now my Thunderblot works like a charm. Actually theres rumors of Cimarron having one in 2007. A pard on another forum said thats straight from Mike Harvey.

Joss,

I have an AWA Lightning in 45 Colt that is one of the most reliable rifles that I have and it handles both black powder or smokeless loads without a problem for an entire match.

As to the "Secret" of getting it to work properly?  This rifle was custom built by Eldon Penner (SASS alias Elrod) in Gardnerville, NV from AWA parts.  Eldon is one of the most knowledgeable people in the country as far as Colt Lightning rifles are concerned, originals or reproductions.

In addition to this Lightning rifle, he rebuilt an original Large Frame Colt Lightning for me to 45-85-285 caliber (Colt's name for the 45-70) and it also works like a charm.

If anyone needs work done on their Lightning, original or reproduction, I suggest that the contact Eldon and talk him about it.

He can be reached at HEPENNER@aol.com.  It's not impossible to make them work properly.
