If it is really stressing you out, try a different technique.

"Kake Kutters" are currently make by the "310 shop". They used to be made by both Lyman and Lee.

You order them a couple thousandths bigger than your "as cast" size. They push over the bullet and extract it from the wax. As you continue cutting bullets, the one from about 3 cuts ago pop out the top. When you are all done just stick new bullets in the holes you created, reheat and start again.

You can use just about any lube formula this way. I find it works best if the lube is still just a tad warm when I do the "kutting".

What he said, if yer lube is brittle it is probably a little to cold. WM

The best place I have found for supplies such as beeswax is at Castbullits, com.

For a interesting device I ran across the Waxmeister. It seems to clean up the mess you can get into with panlubing. It appears that since June, no one has heard from the maker.  I sent an email to him,but so far no reply.  Being an old buckskinner, I headed to Home Depot and roamed the ailses inventing. I was actually able to come up with off the shelf parts to duplicate the function of the device. In fact I made sizes for what bullets I wanted to cast and pan lube.

It`s hard to sell to Buckskinners, they look at things and say, "I can make that."

I have never had any luck pushing the bullets out of the lube.

Haha I was just about to order a lyman 4500 on natchez, when I read that post from Rickk about the Kake Kutter, I think I may try that out first and see if I like it. If that doesn't work, I'm getting the lubrisizer!! As much as I shoot though, I probably should just go ahead and get the lubrisizer. Pan lubing would be fine for just my bp shooting, but if I'm making a 1,000 round batch of .38's I think pan lubing would get old after awhile. I just recently got my casting stuff, up till now I've been buying bullets pre-lubed. Just figured I'd try out pan lubing before I spent the money. Ah the joys of reloading.

Really do not want to mess with casting, too little space.  So will continue to buy bullets.  Other than 45/70 most are reasonalby inexpensive.

keep in mind that after you pan lube, you still may want to size it.

The cheap Lee sizing dies that fit in a regular press work great for that.

CarrCreekKid, for smokeless loads the LEE tumble lube works well (followed by the LEE sizing dies).
