Dear friends, Hi from France,

Can somebody say to me what kind of case using to reload cartridges for  56-46 sporting Spencer, the casting of the  chamber below.

56-46 spencer, 56-46 long case or 56-46 X-long case.

Bufallo Arm's 56-46 case length is 1.040", I dont know other seller.

For the bullet, I thought for LYMAN  457124-385 grs or LEE 457-405f  405grs.
(I use online translater, please, simple explanations)

Thank you per advance.

Ils utilisent maintenant le nouveau Starline 50-70 cas de cartouche comme le parent, je crois. Dans le passé ils ont utilisé la "Bell Basic" 50-70 cas de cartouche. Cette cartouche n'est pas pour un novice, à mon avis. L'équipement rechargeant coûte cher et vous DEVEZ RECUIRE (?) la cartouche reconnaît chaque peu de coups.

Fox Creek,

I am impressed.  4 years in high school and I find I still can translate most all.  That was fun.  I had trouble with memorizing the conjugations and male/female rules and never could write or speak it worth a d-m.  No offense to you Tom or the language.  I had to translate both French and German from technical papers back in college.  Both many many years ago.

Good luck to you Tom trying to get that cartridge working.  Keep us informed.

Hi,

Thank you for your very good translation, Fox Creek Kid, you are the best. ;)

I knew the starting point was the .50-70 government case but I cannot make forming.

My problem is just:   Is 56-46 brass from Bufallo arms, 1.040", are correct for my chamber ?  is the total  length of  1.040" is  good ?

The length between the shoulder and the beginning of the grooves  is important for me, The normal position of the bullet  must be in contact with the grooves, I am mistaken ?

No problem Black river Smith, thank you,  it is difficult for me because it is a technical conversation.
