Dusty,

That is a good idea.  I was thinking a long the same lines.

Having greatly enjoyed my attendance at the first two Musters, I am sorely disappointed that I too had to miss Muster this year - though we did have a pretty fine Match here this past weekend.

Pictures?    ???   When do we get to see lots of pictures?!?!

If, as I gather, the Muster is scheduled for mid-September next year, then I should definitely be able to make it to that one!  (Keep us posted on that, y'hear?)

Major Matt:

I believe this is something I may have suggested previously ... to add a bit of International flavour to a Civil War theme, how about considering a scenario based on the Confederate raid launced from Canada on St. Albans, Vermont?

As something of a covert operation/guerrilla action, with the town's three banks being robbed of over $200,000 for the Confederate Cause, and quite a bit of gunplay I understand, it strikes me as an ideal incident upon which to model a frontier action shooting stage.

This photo of several of the Raiders was supposedly taken when they were being held in custody in Montreal, after the Raid:

Guns Garrett

The St. Albans Raid sounds perfect - a military operation with a dash of the Old West Desperado thrown in ...

Sorry 'bout that on Frenchie, just couldn't resist, I ran across that one some where doing research on something else. ;)  Guess I'll have to be keel-hauled. ;D

Just get below to the galley and bring us some nice spotted dog and an extra gill of grog. Be smart about it and maybe we'll belay the keel-hauling. Unless you'd rather we put you in a dress and call you Betty?  ;D
Yours, &c.,

The Battle rifle concept we're working on provides for single shots as main match weapons, indeed encourages them.

Think you could do Sherman's March to the Sea?
Well, I know all about the cooking at the Widow Barlow's place!

Widow Barlow?  Man I have not seen her for years.   She doing OK?
Bisquits like I never had before,  wish I could get over to her cook shack again some time.

Ah, yes the Good ole Widow Barlow is still around. I have been rather busy with family the past while.
Kelley has gotten 2 small children into her home in the past month and what a change that has been. 2 years old and 6 years old. What a change for all of us, but mostly for them.
We work on our menu all year through. Most of the new foods we introduce to our patrons have been tried on our families. This past Muster, Kelley tried that corm pudding on the folks. What a hit. It is similar to scalloped corn but better. At Muster 2007 we will also be doing the Banquet meal. If you have a request get it in early.
Later guys,
Kayleen
