Taylor's R&Ds for 1858s

Howdy to the camp,

Just got off the phone to Tammy at TAylor's.  She said the new R&D cylinders for the 1858s (with witness holes on side) will take .45 Schofield as well as 45 Colt.  Got one ordered along with an Uberti forged frame 1858.<G>

  I have been shooting Schofields in all of my 58's with great success... The price is a little off putting, compared to regular LC, but they work fine for me. I don't reload but if you do, you could probably save some $$. Any way, good shooting to you.

The Schofield round is a good one for CAS. My R&D cylinders are LC only so I canpt shoot them. glad the new ones are made to take them. Have fun with that one, pard.

I had an early R&D cylinder for a Piretta 1858, and it did not take schofields.  As at the time I was shooting a ,45 Schofield 1872 Open top and 45 Colt Henry, also loaded with Schofields, I sold it.  Now I shoot a 56-50 Spencer, 44-40 Henry, 1872 45 Colt Open Top, and 1860 R&D.  The 1858 with R&D will be a welcome addition to my stable.

LOL, I've bought so many cylinders from R&D, sometimes I think I've kept Kenny in business.

Lawman i sure would like to see some pictures of the forged frame remmie .. I probally need to put one on my wish list ..i`ve got the case hardened frame and really like it .

Taylors will also modify older cylinders.  I had them do two of mine some months back.  Haven't shot Schofields in them, but now I can if I want to.
