I'm certain that this question has been asked and answered more times than anyone can remember, but I  just picked up my second Pietta Remmie .44 from Cabela's and no listed load volumes seem to be the same. I usually shoot .36 Navies or a Walker, so I don't have any experience with the Remmies. I know that the Cabela's pamphlet is probably on the conservative side, so I was wondering how much BP  ya'll use.

Mine wouldn't shoot until I got to 28 gr.GOEX 3F.   30 gr. is a good load, for me

When I feel festive I shoot 30 grs with either .454 ball (w/lube wad+grease) or a 200 gr conical + grease only.

For serious matches I use 20grs+lube wad+over ball grease.

If you shoot the 30 gr loads, expect the gun to bind up with fouling sooner if it is so inclined (varies with different Remmies). I have a Euroarms that will shoot that load all day and still run free but my two Uberti 44s need a single drop of oil (I use Ballistol) on the front of the cylinder where it contacts the frame. A few seconds of jiggling & twirling the cylinder (to get  it down onto the cylinder pin) frees it up fine between stages. I do this just after getting all the chambers charged up. There is no need to pull the cylinder out and wipe down the pin. The oil drop works if mere seconds and keeps you from creating an even bigger mess than you already have by choosing a cap& ball to shoot.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!

I use a 30gr spout on my powder flask filled with either FFg or FFFg.
