If you don't already know, Olin Corp. has granted the manufacturing rights to the Winchester line of firearms to Browning, who is going to outsource production to Russia and Portugal.  If the thought of Russian-made guns with the Winchester name on them turns your stomach, please visit my website at www.boycottolinbrowning.com where you can tell them how you feel about it.

Hey, if the price is cheaper then bring it on.  Un-American?  What is more American than looking for the cheapest source?

I hope they make a real 94, one with out the stupid safety and that kicks the case straight up like John Browning intended. ::)

Howdy, Pards,

RIGHT NOW, the biggest danger we face from Russia (and China) is the CAPITALISTIC capability to produce stuff cheaper than we can, but with excellent quality!  (This could, of course, change in the next five minutes.  Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Maybe NOT even the Shadow!)  This is showing up in the improvements of quality of the Norinco and other CAS guns being produced in China and Russia.  So far as I'm concerned, if you want a realtively inexpensive, but good quality SXS double shotgun, the Baikal's (now imported by Remington as the "Spartan" line) are pretty darn good!

Be interesting to see what finally comes out of the deal.  Probably take a couple of years for them to tool up, etc., however.
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

I might actually be able to afford a Russian-made '92 Winchester.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for new guns without safetys, most countries, including Australia now insist on 2x safety devices on a firearm. The Taurus id about as unobtrusive with their safety as you can get, I don't mind it at all, beats the clunky cross bottons, etc. Mick.
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!
