Just finished installing a Kirst Gated Konverter to my Uberti 1858 New Army in .45LC and thought I would show it off.

Took about 3 to 4 hours. The hardest part was getting the doggone hammer spring back in.

It looks Great and shoots great.

Picked the Gated Konverter up from Texas Jacks at a really good discount.

Pictures below:

Thanks for looking.

Warbucks,...Looks good,...real nice job!

Yea, that hammer spring(mainspring) can be a real hassle to get back in. I use vise grips on the lower edge and kinda torque it in , holding the gun firmly on my knee,.....then once it just catches on the frame housing, I carefully release the vise grips and tap it in with hard plastic hammer.

Thanks for showing the photos  ;)

Nice work, pard. I did one of mine and it took about the same amount of time. Sure does work good.

warbucks16,
you have gone where few fear to tread.

I have a Kirst 1st generation conversion cylinder for my Uberti/Cimarron Navy clone '58 36.cal into .38 that I shoot, but have lusted after that gated conversion cylinder for that caliber.
Nice work.

Thank you all for your comments.

It was a labor of Love that I have really enjoyed, first of all the satisfaction of converting it and secondly the satisfaction of firing it.

It was and easy installation with the exception of getting the hammerspring back in and I was impressed with the Quality of the Kirst Parts.

It is an easy shooter and groups extremely well.

I have ordered the Ejector from River Junction and hope to have that installed shortly.

Thanks Again,
