Troublesome River

 Howdy all,
I have a Rossi carbine .38/.357 I bought way back when that I need some help with. When I bought it, the action and bore were all right but the outside finish had a pretty bad case of suface rust. I've taken all the rust off and am now trying to polish the metal as smooth and shiny as possible.
I'd like to know if I was to leave it 'in the white',as it does look good that way, how do you go about protecting the metal?
I'd apreciate any help guys.- Troublesome

Chance

Get hold of a tin of Rennaissance wax. I know it is available over there as I saw it last year at the CCA show in Kansas.

Rennaissance Wax is available online mostly in furniture or antique restoration houses and even eBay.  Just do a search for it.  Get a good size 'cause you'll start using it for all kinds of things.
Also, in storing the rifle give it some added protection from a vapor inhibiting oil like V80 or vapor phase inhibitor paper or tube.  Just a light wipe down with the oil will last a long time.     Stick to mineral oil or Ballistol if you shoot BP.  I live in a very humid bay/wetlands area and these all work on my bright shotgun receivers.
