Sorry for the flood of questions...I'm still on lunch break and I gotta get these in while I can remember them.

What other organizations do you belong to in addition to or other than SASS?  Why or why didn't you join them?

I am SASS only right now.  I have thought about joining WASA but just never have.  I like what I have heard about WASA and think that it would be good to support them.

NCOWS doesn't interest me simply because I feel that rules are too rigid for me.  I'm not into the historical accuracy part of it as much as NCOWS wants you to be.  I think that they have a good thing going though.  Especially for those that are migrating over from reinacting.

Calamity Jane

WASA - because it's an alternative to that other outfit which I will not name.

NCOWS - because I like their attitude (even if I ain't into it myself)

Joyce (AnnieLee)

SASS, W3G, and WASA. Dunno what happened to WASA, I never got any info from them nor a request to renew. I still need to send in my form and money to NCOWS, inspite of som... nah, I'm not gonna say it. :D

I try to support CAS in all its forms, whether or not I'll actually be able to shoot at the matches.

I joined NCOWS last October. The draw was that it is member run, in the Midwest (not CA or NM), and it will motivate me to research and learn more about the Old West.

NRA-NMLRA-SASS. I joined SASS after reading both the pros and cons on these web sites. So I joined knowing of the good and bad parts. I read the SASS Wire and this one and FTS. Most negitive reports came from the FTS. Till they buried tha hacket with SASS. With over 60,000 menbers i know there will be a few members who disagree with some of the things. i s
do my self. But SASS is still the best game in town.

Doc Shapiro

Western 3 Gun, Steel Challenge, USPSA.  These games fill other goals in shooting.  It's good to branch out and do some cross training.

CAS is a game.  SASS is the umbrella organization that provides the rules the matches are held under.  They also provide a means of communication in the Wire and the Chronicle.  There are as many different flavors of CAS as there are matches.  Each one has its own unique character which is derived from the local club members.

Over/under this side of tha fishin' hole we gotta be a member of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (much like the NRA), and from there we gotta join Single Action Shooting Australia (affiliated with SASS) to participate in our chosen sport. These organisations hold licence to conduct and administer Cowboy type shooting under SASS rules.

I am also a member of CASS (Cowboy Action Shooting Society of Austraila) which is a group of likeminded folks involved in our sport.

These organisations are our reason CAS can be shot as a legitimate sport within our Country (Australia)
You don't gotta be insane to do this,
but it sure helps.

Only my local CAS club, Bayou Bounty Hunters: and NRA (life member since 1977, cost me $200.00 back then).

Make haste, slowly.

NRA and NCOWS.  NCOWS because a guy from there asked me to come check it out six years ago.  I barely make our monthly club shoot and shoot one or two regional events a year, so there'd be no reason to join SASS.
