Don't have a lab, but have 15yrs experence working with blind people; Lab's were often used as Guide Dogs, because they are very docile and intellegent. ;D

My pets are a Chiwawa and a BluenGold MacCaw.

When I was young and on the ranch, had My horse, and dog n cat and Badger, and one old much beloved sheep, we herded about 1200 head of Herford cattle.

MH, when you get the full size image, scroll on below and click on the blue writing for larger image.  These are scanned from the glass negatives and the picture will take over your screen.  This is what makes this collection such a daisy. ;D

Lone Gunman or Del can you enhance/concentrate/focus on the lever section of the referenced Butcher photo., like you did with only the man and dog.  Such that the indentation between the trigger and the finger lever of the 87 or the straight profile/break pivot point area common on the 01 can be distinguished.  You know how you enlarged the hat photo and provided better clarity.  Could you do the same thing here on this photo.  When I try all I can get is larger squares of different shades of gray.

I think only that will answer Marshal harpoluke's question/comment. At least in my mind.

Thanks for any additional help.

That is the extent you can go, when you get the pixels you can see, you have reached the end as far as I can do.  One would have to scan the negative with a higher resaloution.

With what George posted as for what the lever looks like, I don't really see it in the picture.  Butcher's dates have proved too accurate to dispute on something not that clear.  Them still having a sod and the amount of elk antlers pretty well date the picture.
