Howdy to the camp,

At Old Sac, our first Sgt. had some brass blanks for his orignal 1860 Spencer.  They were made from .500 Linebaugh brass, stepped down and tapered.  They cycled in his, but the extractor (a blade) would not grab them.  They wouldn't cycle in mine, being too short OAL compared to the 56-50, but would extract with the Lane extractor on the 56-50 Taylors.  I think with a modified cartridge guide, they would work.  They were great!!!! 40 grains of FFFG and green crumble foam. Much loader than the plastic blanks (which worked very well, though not as loud).

He had them made at about .75-$1 each.  I am trying to find out more info.
