Guns Garrett

Kayleen,
How many shooters can we expect at the Muster next weekend?

Sadly, a number of folks from last year have had to bow out, and they will be missed.  Looking forward to seeing everyone else and meeting those who  couldn't make it last year!  Hope the weather doesn't pull the same trick it did then - beautiful all week, then cold and drizzly all weekend.

All you Kansas City/Garnett pards out there - can you tell me of any merchantile stores in that area that offer period clothing?  It seems to me at one time there was an outfit in Paola, KS that carried old west clothing (not looking for shooting gear, but that would be a big plus!).  We will be coming up Hwy169 in KS this Thursday on our way to Ackley, and the Mrs. wanted to shop (shop - stop, all the same to her).  After that stop, we plan to press on to Iowa Falls, arriving Thurs. late afternoon/early evening at the AmericInn.
See you then

Guns,

You should stop at James Country Merchantile in Libery, Mo right of I-35 N.  That is where I got my Civil War Marine and Cavalry uniforms.  Coincidently, they specialize in Civil War clothing.

Howdy Guns,

Exit I-35 on MO - 152 and go east until you come to the town square.  You will come in on the south side. Make 2 left turns and you will be on the North side.  Park at the west end of the block.  Go north
at the NW corner of the square 1/2 block and there you are there!  Good shoppig!

I wil be at Ben'ts Old Fort for a living history event.  Wanted to play there for 25 years and finally got my chance.

Y'all have fun and shoot good!  I'll think of you, if I get the time.

Guns,
Unfortunatly for those that are not attending but fortunate for those of us that are.  There are 20 shooters, the way I figure right now, that gives all registered shooters about 4 door prizes. Let alone the odds are better for recieving one of the prints that have been donated.
With gift certificates of $25-$100 and certificates with 50-60% off merchandise this shoot is worth the effort to attend. Oh well, that leaves more good food for everyone and all of the rest of the good stuff.
As for the shopping thing, Iowa FAlls, has a couple of neat "stuff" stores, you know the sort of things that us gals like and you guys put up with. There is a fabric store in the business area and it has some really nice fabric.
Porters and Camp David are good places to eat, Porters being favored.
Will be great to see you folks and plan on having a good time.

Drydock

Only 20! After the steady increases of the last few years, dangit, I had hoped the change in venue would lead to further increased numbers, even with the unfortunate cancelations and conflicts that have come about.  Are any of the NCOWs locals coming out?
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

I am as about as local or loco(you deceide) as they get.  I will be there and I am really looking forward to it.  This will be my first cowboy shoot except for long range and buffalo shoots.  So please y'all save the laughing till I am done shooting so I can laugh with y'all.  I look forward to meeting everyone.

Hello the fire! 20 shooters seems to be alittle on the light side. Just means we few, we chosen few, have to burn that much more powder. This will be my first Muster but I'm really looking forward to it. Once again I call on all true sons of the south to rally to the flag and drive back the hordes(?) of northern aggresion. Rally to the black flag and defend your homes and hearths! Al

Hey Shalako,

The Heck you say...it will be us Yanks putting down the Sessonists....

I am with you, if folks just don't want to come, that means more shooting with for us.  More prizes, more food and more fun.  It also means that I will get the opportunity to spend time with everyone.  But, unfortunately looking at an event as a business, it does not bode well for future events.

Frenchie

Let's have a good old time and let the future worry about itself! Laissez les bon temps roulez!

You boys in gray can go 'long all you like, the important questions got settled in 1865 and now it's all just hootin' and hollerin'.

Boys in blue, keep in mind the Fenians went to Canada after the War with our uniforms, arms and training, and got their butts handed to them. Then there was Custer...  ;D

Madame Kayleen, I'll send the fetching Mrs. Frenchie to you for shopping advice, she loves old-timey stuff.
Yours, &c.,

Guy 'Frenchie' LaFrance

Frenchie,  It is good to remind each side that there is always someone out there who can whip their butts. However, when I look at the proliferation of "Native American" owned casinos taking in tens of millions of dolars each year, I wonder who really won the so-called Indian Wars.

We of the Cherokee say, "Thank you for your support!"
