Major Matt Lewis

First Clean shoot and I was in uniform to boot!  Hope the next one isn't another 4 years in the making.

WELL DONE!

I've only done it once myself - and in uniform as well - so I can well appreciate the accomplishment.

Every time I shoot it's at least in "campaign" uniform, so every time I start out with visions of a new marksmanship award. This month I shot the first stage clean and I'm thinking, "Today's the day." Things really went to h*ll after that. :o ::) ;) Oh well, it gives me a reason to try next month.

Jerry,

Awhile back, I was sweating like a hog in my wool uniform during the heat and humidy of a Virginia summer as I cleaned stage after stage.  I was on a roll and knew I had a clean match in the bag...until the second to last shot on the last stage! ARGH!

Ironically the closest I've come was my very 1st shoot. cleaned everything untill the last stage where I missed 3.

Ironically, the first and only match I've ever cleaned was the first one I shot after returning from Iraq.  Made the experience all the more memorable.

I admire those who can clean a match while shooting as fast as they can (which may not be fast at all) as it takes not only skill, but discipline.  This is why the GAF acknowledges those who do it wearing a uniform - its even harder when wearing a hot uniform.

Congratulations Major. Take care.
