I'd like to take my 45-70 out to hunt mule deer this fall but don't want to end up with a right arm that is two feet longer than my left. Yeah I know, I could switch arms but think about the confusion that would cause. Any of you folks got an idea where a man might buy a sling or carrying strap that wouldn't interfer with that low front sight. I would like to make my own ( at least half the fun ) if I could find a pattern. Thanks

That would be a 45-70 rifle by Pedersoli.

Uncle Mike has a sling that might work.  It don't have to be bolted on and is made for a shotgun, but I don't think the sling would care if it were attached to a rifle. .
