Help with installing taller front sight on a Spiller & Burr

I have a Pietta Spiller & Burr that is in bad need of a taller sight. She shoots about 16" hi @ 10 yds. Any one know how best to remove the old sight ? I bought a small dovetail sight to install, is the barrel wall thick enough to allow a shallow dovetail? Should I use a piece of round stock and braze in place ? Please fellers and gals, I need help.

Her's a picture of a front sight I made from a dime.  I cut out the rough shape, 3/16 inch high, and left a little stud on the bottom that goes in the hole the old sight came out of.  To remove the old sight, grab it with some vise grips and twist counter clock wise.
  I filed the blue off the barrel were the sight would contact it and chalked all the areas with soldering chalk that I didn't want solder to stick to.  heated the barrel, filled the old hole with solder (Brownells 44 Silver solder) then stuck the heated dime in the hole, ran a bead under it and let it cool.  I eye-balled it for straitness while it was still moveable.
  First time at the range it hit POA at 25 yards.  And it's stuck good too, didn't fly off yet.  The serated edge of the dime faces back at the shooter, no glare, and a bit of the exposed copper inside acts like a gold bead.
  Best of all, total cost, about .20 cents.

Brownell's has two "Hi Force 44" solders that melt at 475 and 650 degrees F.  They're great for home DIY for all kinds of stuff.  They also carry "Solder Black" to make the line disappear and soldering talc sticks so you don't get it where you don't want it.  I've used it for sights, shotgun ribs, home repairs.  Just go to www.brownells.com and do a search for solder.
