Evans Rifle

I found an Antuiqe Evans for sale in TX. I thought it was nice just looking at the pictures.
If I`d have endless amounts of money, I`d probaly spend it all on antuiqe guns!

Thanks for the link, I think   I've been saving, I mean I was saving for an Evans, but in January two of my three dogs had major surgery - blockage in my male$ $mall inte$tine; and a torn cartilage in my female$ rear leg.  Ouch!  There went my Evans money and then-some
But, my dogs are my best friends

I have two Evans, one carbine and one rifle, both new models. They are definitely different! The original bore is around 0.430", and the original bullet was 0.415", which explains why they were terribly inaccurate. I have a set of dies in 44 Evans long and I make cases by cutting down 30-40 Krag and slightly reducing the rim diameter. I also cut a bevel on the cases, as does Happy Trails, a gentleman very familiar with the Evans. I use a 0.430" dia bullet, which helps the accuracy. I think the originals used a smaller diameter bullet than bore since it could shoot so many rounds without reloading, and the fouling must have gotten pretty bad after 15 or 20 rounds.
You can't lever them fast, or you are likely to kick out a live round along with the empty brass, but you get a lot "style" points.
