I have a Uberti 66 rifle that has locked up on me. Took it
out to try some new loads. On the 3rd round something didn't
feel right so I tried to eject it and that's where it's stuck. The
lever will only move about an 1" to 1-3/4 and then it doesn't
want to retract all the way. This a .45 caliber rifle and has worked
without a hitch for 8 years. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you,
CBG

First, remove the magazine plug, then the spring and follower.  Remove all remaining rounds.  If the round in the chamber has been fired, the rifle is probably now safe to work with.

Try the action again, making sure to check for a loaded round in the chamber. If it now works, the chances are that you have fallen victim to an extremely common problem -- the little lip on the loading gate has broken off.  This permits the next round to enter the carrier part way, which jams the rifle. The fix is simply to get another loading gate with a stronger lip.

If it still doesn't work, take a look to see if the carrier is moving freely. If not, check the adjustment of the lever springs and etc.  If that doesn't fix it, I'd suggest a gunsmith.

Others will probably chime in with additional info.

Nighteyes,
It was the lip on the loading gate. I appreciate your assistance and
now to check into some new parts.

Thanks Again,

Glad to have been of assistance, CBG.The same thing happened to me.

For a new loading gate I suggest VTI Gun parts http://www.vtigunparts.com/  They have one that has a reinforced lip, so that it won't break on you again.
